Tomohisa Kaname (鹿目知久?) is a supporting character in the Puella Magi Madoka☆Magica anime and manga series. He is the husband of Junko Kaname and the father of Madoka Kaname and Tatsuya Kaname.

Tomohisa is a tall man with short, medium light-brown hair and dark brown eyes. He wears rectangular glasses rimmed with taupe brown, a deep blue baggy V-neck long sleeved shirt, khakis and dark brown shoes.
Personality[]
Tomohisa is a kind man that supports his family. He is a stay-at-home dad and does most of the chores around the house.
Etymology[]
Tomohisa (知久?): Tomo (知?) means "wisdom"[1] while hisa (久?) means "old story".[2]
Kaname (鹿目?): Kana (鹿?) means "deer"[3] and me (目?) means "eye".[4]

- According to an interview in the fourth Blu-ray's booklet, Tomohisa was made as a kind father so Madoka could develop a sense of courage through her strong family background.
- Gen Urobuchi stated that he created a family with a kind father and a strong mother to create a strong background for Madoka and to develop a sense of courage.
